Samantha Elswick

Optician

Sami Elswick is a dedicated optician with a genuine passion for helping patients find eyewear that fits both their vision needs and their personal style. She began her journey in the optical field as an apprentice optician in 2021 after the role was suggested by a family friend. What started as a chance opportunity quickly became a true calling.

“I always joke that I stumbled into this line of work, not realizing at the time how quickly my passion for it would grow. I find immense joy in bringing sight to people of all walks of life, and I especially love working with children who have special needs.”

Sami has a strong connection to the special needs community. She began learning American Sign Language (ASL) as a child so she could communicate with her youngest sister, who is nonverbal and has special needs. Through continued learning and immersion in Deaf culture, she became proficient in ASL. This allows her to connect with a wider range of patients and help ensure everyone feels understood and supported during their visit.

Sami believes eyeglasses can be more than a medically necessary device. They can also be a reflection of personality and lifestyle. She enjoys helping patients find frames that make them feel confident while improving their vision.

Outside of the office, Sami enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She lives in Columbus with her husband, Matthew, and their two kittens, Vincent and Tolkien.
